Kuraray Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Hitoshi Kawahara) will exhibit at the NW Materials Show 2025, a major trade show to be held in the United States from February 12, 2025, in Portland, Oregon. The purpose of this event is to connect material suppliers with apparel and sports brands. Following our exhibition last August, we will increase the number of exhibited products and introduce Kuraray Group's sustainable and highly functional materials for apparel and sporting goods based on the concept of a “Sustainable future with Kuraray.”
VECTRAN™ Liquid crystal polymer fiber |
A high-strength fiber that counts low moisture absorbency and dimensional stability among its characteristics. It can be used in ripstop fabric※1, which requires durability, and can be colored through spin-dyeing. |
VECSTAR™ Liquid crystal polymer film |
A thin and flexible insulating material. It has low transmission loss in high-frequency circuits, excellent gas barrier properties, flexibility at low temperatures, and vibration damping properties. |
Syndiotactic polystyrene (SPS) fiber | A hydrophobic fiber with excellent quick-drying performance and a dry feel, capable of dyeing processing with heat resistance. Thanks to the elimination of the requirement for an additional water-repellent treatment in its manufacture, negative effects on the environment of the processing agent used are low. |
Split-type recycled microfiber | A flat-shaped microfiber made from 100% recycled polyester and nylon materials. Its shape and performance are equivalent to conventional products, making it a viable alternative. |
MAGIC TAPE™ hook-and-loop fastener Recycled type |
A hook-and-loop fastener made of 100% polyester that includes 30% recycled raw material. No back coating agent is used, allowing for material recycling. It has acquired RCS certification. |
SEPTON™ Styrenic thermoplastic elastomers |
Excellent gripping performance. It has low bleed-out and can maintain performance over a long period. |
SEPTON™ Q-series Styrenic thermoplastic elastomer |
It is approximately 30% lighter than TPU※2. It has hydrolysis resistance and can maintain performance over a long period. |
HYBRAR™ Styrenic thermoplastic elastomer |
Exhibits high vibration damping and shock absorption over a wide temperature range. |
※1Ripstop fabric: A fabric with a reinforced lattice structure that is highly resilient to rupturing
