Kuraray Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Hitoshi Kawahara) will exhibit at ISPO Munich 2024, an international sporting goods trade show to be held in Munich, Germany from December 3 to 5. The Kuraray's diverse materials, which contribute to the creation of innovation and sustainability in sporting goods, will be introduced at both the Theme Exhibition Booth and the Clarino Division Booth.
1.Exhibition Products
◆Theme 1: Materials that achieve both high durability and lightweight properties
We will introduce two products that offer lightweight properties for sports equipment components requiring high durability.
・VECTRAN™ liquid crystal polymer fiber which is ultrafine, high-strength, and abrasion-resistant
・SEPTON™ styrenic thermoplastic elastomer Q-series, which is approximately 30% lighter than TPU* ★
◆Theme 2: Materials that enhance sports performance
We will introduce three products born from our group’s advanced technology, focusing on slip resistance, quick drying, and shock absorption.
・Recyclable styrenic thermoplastic elastomers SEPTON™ with excellent gripping performance★
・Syndiotactic polystyrene (SPS) fiber with approximately 1.8 times faster quick-drying performance than polyester*
・Styrenic thermoplastic elastomer HYBRAR™ which exhibits high vibration damping and shock absorption properties over a wide temperature range ★
◆Theme 3: Materials that preserve next-generation resources
Four products that use recycled or bio-derived raw materials, are recyclable, or contribute to simplifying the manufacturing process will be introduced here.
・100% polyester MAGIC TAPE™ hook-and-loop fasteners recycled type containing approximately 30% recycled polyester yarn
・Split-type recycle microfiber made of 100% recycled polyester and nylon★
・SEPTON™ Styrenic thermoplastic elastomers BIO-series made from bio-based raw materials ★
・Surface-smoothing sheet that improves the surface smoothness of CFRP and the enables reduction of polishing processes (Under development)
★Marked products will be exhibited at ISPO for the first time
