Kuraray Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Hitoshi Kawahara; hereinafter “Kuraray” or the “Company”) hereby announces that, on October 1, 2021, unauthorized access to a server managed by the Company was confirmed. This incident was found to have resulted in the leakage of a portion of information stored in the server in question.
Immediately after the detection of this incident, the Company blocked the routes used to gain unauthorized access and otherwise implemented measures aimed at preventing a further security breach.
With the cooperation of external specialist organizations, investigations are now under way to determine the details of the situation. As soon as new facts warranting disclosure are revealed, we will issue a follow-up statement through Kuraray’s corporate website.
We extend our deepest apologies to our customers, business partners and other stakeholders for the anxiety this incident may have caused.
