Kuraray Co., Ltd. (Headquarter: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Masaaki Ito) newly installs pre-production equipment for Flexible Copper Clad Laminates ”Vecstar™ FCCL” in Kashima Plant, using LCP film Vecstar™, and starts sampling.
Kuraray has already completed capacity expansion of LCP film Vecstar™ in Saijo Plant which started in 2018, and the total production capacity combining both plants will be 1.8 million square meter per year in 2nd half of CY2020, when new equipment is installed.
Further information about Flexible Copper Clad Laminates ”Vecstar™ FCCL” will be available at JPCA Show (49th International Electronic Circuits Exhibition), from June 5th in Tokyo Big Sight.
(Note) LCP = Liquid Crystal Polymer
FCCL=Flexible Copper Clad Laminates
In this release, ”Vecstar™ FCCL” means laminates made of LCP film Vecstar™ and copper foil.
LCP film has excellent dielectric properties and low moisture absorption, and is suitable for multilayer stack up process, and the market demand as PCB material is rising for high speed transmission devices in smart phones, automotive, and so on.
Kuraray is planning to continuously increase production capacity to meet the market needs of high frequency PCB material, which is expected to grow with 5G technology.
(Note) PCB = Printed Circuit Board
