In December every year, Kuraray's Kurashiki Plant stages "Kuraray Christmas Fantasy" as part of its local community activities. For the event, a roughly 50-year-old, 15-meter-high Himalayan cedar standing at the plant's main entrance is decorated with some 4,000 Christmas lights, capturing the spirit of the season for everyone in the area to enjoy. Dating back to 1990, this year’s event will mark the 18th occasion on which it has been held (it was not held on two years in the past.) With broad-based popularity and support, Kuraray Christmas Fantasy has become a seasonal tradition for the local community.
The times of the lighting ceremony for the huge Christmas tree and of the events being performed during the period when the tree is lit up are provided below.
Beginning this year, and with a view to preventing a dangerous stampede caused by an influx of visitors, the receiving of candy as a present from Santa Claus has been replaced by the holding of a present lottery.
All at the Kurashiki Plant are very much looking forward to seeing everyone at this year's event.
