In December of this year, Kuraray's Kurashiki Plant (General Manager Katsuhiko Nishiguchi) will stage "Kuraray Christmas Fantasy 2007," an event for decorating and lighting a 50-year-old, 15-meter-high Himalayan cedar (standing at the plant's main entrance) as a giant Christmas tree. Using polyester cotton manufactured at the Kurashiki Plant, the tree will be decorated with ornaments made by employees and lit up by some 3,800 lights.

This year will mark the 16th occasion to hold the event since it originally started in 1990 (it was previously not held for two years). With broad-based popularity and support, Kuraray Christmas Fantasy has become a seasonal tradition for the local community.

On the tree-lighting ceremony, an enjoyable Christmas mood will be set for everyone as local children sing Christmas carols together and receive presents from Santa Claus, played by employees in costume. To encourage everyone to come and see the splendidly illuminated Christmas tree, information is provided below.

In addition, during the period the tree is lit up, a four-day bazaar will be held December 17-20, with profits from sales going to a year-end fund-raising drive for charitable donations.
