Coenzyme Q10 Black Pepper Mix

All-round health foods and cosmetics company Kuraray Family Products Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka; President: Yoshikazu Takamoto) has recently developed a combined yeast-derived Coenzyme Q10 and black pepper extract, to form the Coenzyme Q10 Black Pepper Mix, which will go on sale December 21, 2005.

Coenzyme Q10 also known as ubiquinone is an essential component of every cell in the entire body, providing us with the vigor and energy we need for life. Unfortunately, however, it reaches its peak around age 20, after which point its production goes into steady decline. The decrease is especially noticeable in the epidermis, with the decline of physical strength as the body deteriorates around age 40-50, by which time about two thirds have been lost. By age 80, it has declined to about 30%.

Within each cell, the mitochondria operates like a factory, using raw materials such as sugar and fat to produce energy. At this point, Coenzyme Q10 is the indispensable element, taking on a role much like the workers in the factory. Because no other component can do this work, youthfulness can be maintained if the shortfall is made up through our food.

However, even if we take Coenzyme Q10, not all of the valuable coenzyme is absorbed. The amount absorbed depends on the individual, and with some people it is less than one-fifth. This is why Kuraray has combined Coenzyme Q10 with black pepper extract (bioperin) to increase the absorption ratio.

In Coenzyme Q10 Black Pepper Mix, Coenzyme Q10 works in conjunction with the black pepper extract to provide strong support for those concerned about declining physical strength.
